Special Workshop with John Nelson, Esri
Time: 4:00-6:00pm
Location: Hilton Polaris/Columbus
Cost: You must be registered to attend the Ohio GIS Conference in order to attend the workshop.
Areas of Interest:
In this workshop we'll walk through a bunch of different ways you can bring special visual attention to the focal subject of your map. As a key player in many maps, the area of interest deserves its role in the hot sun and we'll learn practical and easy-to-apply techniques to bring them to life. Bring a laptop to follow along, or just watch and take notes, or just watch and heckle. All are welcome! We'll be using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
About John Nelson:
John is a cartographer and User Experience designer in glorious Michigan. He works with Esri, promoting geographic content and quality through cartography, videos, writing, occasional keynotes, and other shenanigans. Some of his work has been featured in National Geographic Magazine, FastCompany, and the Guardian, and has landed (briefly but gloriously) on the front page of Reddit a few times. John speaks at mapping and technology conferences, presenting enthusiastically on topics including data visualization, cartography, UX, and social media.
